Wow, I haven’t blogged in a while…
And you know when you don’t see someone for a while, you sometimes say, “You look different!”
I’m sorry blogworld, but you still look the same though.
In a good way though!
I’m making this awkward, aren’t I?
I don’t have much of an excuse for not blogging as often as planned. I was caught up in a bunch of school crap and last week I went to….
*drumroll*
France!
It was for spring break.
Dear France,
I miss you.
Take me back?
Love,
Moi
It was one of the best experiences of my life, no joke.
Right before spring break, let’s just say that I was going through some…trouble.
Leaving the country was a breath of fresh air.
I was in France and I didn’t have a care in the world about anything or anyone. I could just be myself and enjoy the blue skies, sunshine, and Nutella crepes.
Oh those crepes were good…
I’m debating about blogging about the trip here or not because I’m going to be adding pictures, from the trip, onto my flickr and blogging about it in the description.
I guess that’s it for now…?
Here’s a song as always:

It’s from my favorite French movie, Les Choristes. Check out Jean Baptiste Maunier. He’s adorable *girly giggle*

Namaskara!
Now you know how to greet people in Kannada!
I’ve been addicted to flickr. Addicted.
I really don’t do much on flickr except peruse other random photos and upload from time to time. I know some people will be favoriting and commenting the crap out of other photos. I feel like if I did that I would just creep out these random flickr people. Maybe not. It’s just this feeling in the back of my head. Here’s my flickr if you want to favorite the crap out of it. Or just peruse. Or ignore.
Anyways!
I saw this video on youtube a couple minutes ago.
Two things:
1. I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone talk so fast.
2. It’s going on my Top 10 funniest youtube videos list.
Well at the end of the video, he starts talking about that people should blog about happy things and that got me thinking.
I seem to complain in my blogs a lot (I know it’s been 5 posts BUT STILL).
Most of my blogs end up being sob stories I guess…
So here’s my list of what makes me happy and I love, in no particular order (I’ve actually been tagged to do this in a photo on flickr. Most people seem to draw theirs out, but since I’m a terrible drawer, I’m just gonna write this out):
1. My friends
2. New York City
3. Camp
4. Music
5. Summer
6. FOOD
7. My family
8. Making other people happy/laugh
9. The smell of gas stations
10. A pack of 124 Crayola crayons
11. Chocolate
12. My dog
13. Guitar
14. Ordering-in
15. The color blue
16. Bubble baths
17. Paper boats
18. Basketball
19. New clothes
20. The smell of new books
I’m just going to keep it at the nice, even number 20. And that’s all I can think of at the moment…
Since we’re on the topic of happy stuff, I’m gonna end this post with a smile
Oh! And a song! Under the Bridge – The Red Hot Chili Peppers

It sounds like a sad song, but it makes me happy. Inside joke from camp

What makes you happy?

Hello interwebz
I’m just gonna rant for a bit.
You know what I hate?
Waking up before my alarm goes off.
Scratch that.
Being woken up by someone, aka my mom, before the alarm goes off.
Today does not seem like a good day.
Ohohohoh!!!
I have a new obsession (thanks to boredom)!!
I made a buttload of paper boats yesterday. Hehehehehe
GEEZUS
DONT LOOK AT YOUR COMPUTER LIKE THAT!
We’ve already established the fact that I have no life. For the time-being that is. You know, ’cause I’m on break.
I guess this is just a quick post…
NO!
NOT A QUICK POST
it was a brain dump…
I’m pretty sure my blog is turning into some sort of diary.
Isn’t that what blogging is like sometimes?
I need to start vlogging.
Ok ok ok. I’ll stop rambling.
HERE IS A SONG. TAKE IT!!
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
It’s by Travie McCoy. I’m in a Top 40 mood today I guess.
Yeah
My music taste is insanely eclectic.
Get used to it (:

What do you hate?

Well helloooooooooooo there
Today has been rather interesting. You could say it was fun. More interesting than fun I guess.
I went shopping today! For the first time in a while too.
I am now a proud owner of a Ghostbusters sweater.
*giggles like a two-year-old*
My Blue Period is turning rainbow
(hehehehe that didn’t sound awkward at all)
ANYWAYS!
What I really wanted to tell you guys (whoever you are) about is my swimming experience today.
I went to this new gym club that my dad signed my family up for, for the first time today to go swimming. My mom was also with me to check out the pool. Thus observing the pool for about 15 seconds (I think we were looking more at the water than the surrounding area of it), we declared it ‘nice’. I was left there by myself, while my mom went to yoga 15 minutes away.
I got changed, grabbed my towel and key, and headed for the pool. Once I got to the pool, I put my stuff down, and jumped in. Normal right? NO.
HAVE YOU EVER JUMPED INTO A BATHTUB?!?!?
IT FELT THE SAME AS JUMPING INTO A BATHTUB.
Just with saltier water.
I completely missed the sign that said ’0.8m’.
The deepest part of the pool was 1.2m.
I tried to push this fact out of my mind by getting ‘Just Keep Swimming’ stuck in my head.
It didn’t help that when I did freestyle, my arms would hit the floor.
I was not swimming.
I was swim-crawling.
After 40 minutes I got fed up and decided to explore the neighborhood instead (I was in the French Concession).
This was a much better plan than swim-crawling.
I was able to get a good amount of walking done AND make fun of the guards in front of the consulates. In my head of course…
That makes me sound terrible
Okay, they do this head turning thing. They’ll look in one direction for a few seconds then slowly turn their head to look at the other direction. Trust me, if you see it, you’ll laugh. Feel free to put in dialogue too whilst watching them.
Guard 1: (slow head turn) NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Guard 2: (slow head turn) DAAAAAYYYUUUUMMMM she’s hot
Guard 3: (slow head turn) WWWWHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I finally made it to the building that my mom does yoga in. On the bottom floor there’s a cafe called Ginger. I decided to stop in for some ‘afternoon tea’ while I waited for my mom. I got chrysanthemum tea with honey, and dense chocolate cake. The dense chocolate cake was pretty much a flourless brownie. IT WAS AMAZING! Definitely a highlight to my day…other than the Ghostbusters sweater.
A few jizzes later from the chocolate cake, I met up with my mom. We picked up our friends’ dog, which we are now dogsitting, and went wheeeee wheee wheee (cue Guard 3) all the way home.
Yup
It was an interesting day.
I already gave you a song a couple hours ago (and my obsessions don’t change that fast), so I’ll leave you with a picture from my adventure today.
~~~
What do your favorite adventures consist of?
Guess what.
WRONG!
Guess again.
WWWWRRRRRROOOONNNNGGGG!
Last guess.
I wish…
Today, I didn’t have sex, get a tattoo, or win a million dollars. Today, I woke up at the crack of dawn to go…
running.
Cue anti-climatic music.
Seriously though, I hate running, so it’s amazing that I had the will-power to get up before my dog did and go for a run. Apparently you’re supposed to feel energized too after running. Honestly, I feel like sore crap. My mom says it’s because I didn’t run enough. I’m definitely done in the running department though. And getting up at the crack of dawn.
Go on
Scoff at my lifeless-life
I’m on break!!! I have nothing else to do…
I think I’m going through my Blue Period.
As promised, here’s my song for today:
Sailed On – Landon Pigg
Perfect song for a Blue Period
Any cures for boredom whilst on break?
Umm, how’s it goin’? *headnod*
I’m not quite sure how to start off the first blog without it sounding like the “about” page.
How about an icebreaker? Embarrassing stories anyone?
This one’s a bit stupid and I still feel terrible, but here goes.
Once upon a time, I was hanging out at home by myself. I was playing the guitar when the doorbell rang. I was slightly confused since I wasn’t expecting anyone. I went downstairs to answer it anyways. I opened the door and there was
The
Sketchiest
Guy
I’ve
Ever
Seen
…
Ever.
Once I opened the door, he asked me where my mom was. I immediately had this flashback to when I answered the door for another stranger who had asked me where my mom was. I told my mom about her later that day and she said, “Rachel, if anyone asks where I am, don’t say anything.” After recalling this life-lesson, I slammed the door on Sketchy Guy.
He wouldn’t leave the driveway though.
I began to freak out. What would you have done if some sketchy guy didn’t leave your property??
I blasted a heavy metal song on the speaker to see if it would scare him. The song is by System of a Down.
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
Call me stupid, ridiculous, silly, foolish, or whatever word that floats your boat.
However, it didn’t work.
heh
I called my dad, who told me to push the red panic button, which would call the guards over.
Finally, one of the guards came and I tried my best in broken Chinese to tell the guard to “Remove that man!!!” I think it came out as, “I don’t know that guy…”
In the end, my dad had one of his co-workers, who lives nearby, come over and help translate. The man was escorted off the premises (hehehe I’ve always wanted to say that) and I was left with ‘Vicinity of Obscenity’ blasting on the speaker.
Turns out Mr. Sketchy Guy was the gardner.
Oh woe is me…
On that note, I’ll leave you with a song that I’m currently obsessed with. It’s by Joy Williams.
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
I probably need permission to post those songs. Copyright infringement not intended! Hopefully, that helps.
I’ll be posting a song that I’m obsessed with, every blog post, given the benefit of the doubt that my blog won’t be taken down for copyright infringement.
Any embarrassing stories that you want to share?
